Early start in the morning… heading home to London after two and a half days in Zagreb – a city of contrasts, a city that always provides a warm welcome.
I’ve enjoyed every minute of my time here, especially the international conference organised by the Association of Croatian Travel Agents, during which I shared insights into the future of tourism, heritage tourism, and Customer Experience – and especially, created a new team of zookeepers, engaged and ready to drive better communication with their teams and customers.
I’ve made new friends and explored new concepts around collaboration, innovation and giving customers what they want (thanks, Paul Bradbury).
And so as I prepare to leave Zagreb, I’m excited at the prospect of returning soon, to work with new partners to help Croatia and the Balkan states to realise their potential. It takes hard work, it takes commitment, it takes creativity; but above all it takes a fundamental belief that, regardless of cultural differences, regardless of historical and bureaucratic hindrances, we human beings were put on this Earth to celebrate the miracle of our existence, and to collaborate in order to progress the betterment of our human condition.
And so Laku noć Zagreb (goodnight Zagreb) – until the next time. It’s been real.
